About to get cray-cray

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

This week is about to get cray. We're talking absolutely nuts, people.
First, it's a short week which is kind of a pain to begin with especially if you're a journalist. It doesn't mean a day off, it means you have to squish a week's worth of work into four days. I still have to have the campus paper ready by noon today, my staff still has to get all their interviews and stories done by Saturday, etc.
On top of this being a shortened week, we have a huge event coming to campus tomorrow. Ann Romney will be speaking and myself and a few staff members will be covering it. We found out last night leaving us with little time to prepare, but I do know I will be doing a one-on-one interview with her.
Pretty cool, right? Whether you're a republican or democrat, it's pretty cool to have the opportunity to do an interview with a presidential candidate's wife.
She is super pretty though via
Other than a crazy awesome opportunity headed my way, this is also the first week of Pulse TV, the campus TV station we are in the process of resurrecting. We have a small staff of about a dozen, which means a lot of work for each of us.
Adding to that, I'm president of our university's Lambda Pi Eta (communication fraternity) chapter and we're in the process of planning our annual picnic for all the comm students next week. Talk about stressful! A lot goes into planning a department-wide event. I'm just thankful it was moved to next week from it's originally scheduled date this week.
Talk about a stressful week! So if I don't blog much, forgive me. I'm more than likely up to my eyeballs in my extracurriculars and floundering in my classes.

  3. Wow, girl! You sure have your hands full this week :) Hope it goes well - I'm sure you'll rock it out :) How exciting to interview Mrs. Romney - she seems to be sweet and kind from the speech I saw the other night for the convention. You'll have to share with us how it all went!
