Our cruise was SO much fun. We went on a 7-day western Caribbean through Carnival. Our ship, Carnival Glory, was one of the biggest in their fleet and there was plenty to do on the ship. We left the day after the wedding (terrible idea, more on that later). Our flight was at 6 am out of Columbus, stopped in Atlanta and got to Miami at about noon.
Monday was a day at sea on the way to our first destination: Grand Cayman!
This was the only stop we did a booked excursion through Carnival and it was a big one. We went to Stingray City Sandbar and then swam with dolphins!
This picture deserves to be all by itself. Stingray City was CRAZY. You get on a ferry and ride half an hour out to seemingly the middle of nowhere. When you get there, there is this random sandbar with hundreds of stingray just hanging out. They're so docile and friendly and just randomly rub up against you. As long as you don't harm/irritate them, you're good!
The dolphin swim was a lot of fun! We got to pet them and play for a little while, then we rode belly-to-belly (bottom row, left picture), got kissed on the cheek (bottom middle) and then got a real dolphin kiss! After that the dolphins did some jumps for us and were headed back to their lagoon.
This wasn't an excursion we'd planned to do, so it hit us right in the wallet when we booked it. We'd planned one small excursion per stop, if any. So this being $150 per person pretty much was it for us.
